Role Description: 

A Floater is a general volunteer role that involves being ready to help wherever help is needed. This position is ideal for someone outgoing, adaptable, and self-directed who is happy to be of assistance in any role (e.g. helping artists, providing stage support, directing guests, etc.) 

Expectations: 

• Basic knowledge of the 2022 Beaches Jazz Festival 

• Basic knowledge of the venue/area you are stationed 

• Able to move quickly from place to place (e.g. Streetfest may require quick mobility along the length of the festival on Queen St. East – about 1.8km) 

• Ability to interact comfortably with the public 

Role Description: 

Are you social media savvy? Looking to improve your social media marketing skills? Then this is the role for you! We’re looking for volunteers who are eager to gather digital content around the festivals (e.g. snapping pics and taking videos of the bands, the crowds, the volunteers, the vendors, etc.). Digital content should then be shared on your own social media accounts with appropriate tagging. Extra content can be shared privately with Beaches Jazz Festival for future use (with due credit to you of course!) This role is ideal for someone up to date with social media trends and with a keen eye for shareable content. 

Expectations: 

• Basic knowledge of the 2022 Beaches Jazz Festival and the performers 

• Knowledge of social media trends 

• Able to use your own smartphone 

• An understanding of quality over quantity in social media content

Role Description: 

A Stage Support is there to help the Stage Manager and the Artists with any non-technical needs that may arise (e.g. helping Artists with gear, showing Artists and other Staff around Backstage, ensuring patrons don’t access the Backstage and Artist areas). 

Expectations: 

• Basic knowledge of the 2022 Beaches Jazz Festival and the performers 

• Basic knowledge of the venue/area you are stationed 

• Able to interact comfortably with the public and with Artists 

• Able to lift small loads such as guitars, amplifiers, craft service boxes 

Role Description: 

Ambassadors warmly welcome and actively engage guests at the various Festival sites. Ambassadors act as the public face of Beaches Jazz by greeting attendees, answering general questions, and handing out brochures and/or pamphlets. Some ambassadors may also collect donations for various fundraising initiatives. 

Expectations: 

• Basic knowledge of the 2022 Beaches Jazz Festival 

• Basic knowledge of the venue/area you are stationed 

• Ability to interact comfortably with the public 

• Outgoing personality 

Role Description: 

You will be selling Beaches Jazz 2022 merchandise to the festival patrons. This role involves charisma, confidence, and salesmanship! Merchandise Sellers must also be organised and able to keep track of inventory and sales.

• Basic knowledge of the 2022 Beaches Jazz Festival 

• Able to interact comfortably with the public 

• Outgoing and charismatic 

• Able to keep track of sales and inventory
