Juno award-nominated Canadian guitarist and instrumentalist, Johannes Linstead fuses virtuoso Spanish-style guitar with Afro-Cuban, Middle Eastern and Latin American instrumentation.  His recordings of world music have consistently charted on Billboard Magazine and in 2007, Linstead was named ‘Guitarist of the Year’ at the prestigious Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards.  His album, Cafe Tropical, earned a Juno nomination for ‘Best Instrumental Album’ and also reached #1 on eMusic’s World Music Chart within the first week of its release.  Linstead’s live performances are nothing short of phenomenal.  Bursting with tropical sounds, audiences are moved to dance and clap along to his music.  In concert, as on his recordings, Linstead strives to create a festive mood, leaving plenty of room for lightning fast guitar improvisations and spicy percussion solos.  A hugely talented multi-instrumentalist, Linstead plays guitar, piano, mandolin, bouzouki, bass, wood flute and various percussion instruments.
