CaneFire is a high-energy Caribbean musical experience that combines Trinidadian calypso with Latin rhythms, jazz beats and blues tunes to create a unique and exciting sound.  At the heart of their music is the unconventional use of the Trinidadian percussion instrument, the steelpan.  CaneFire was founded by Canadian pianist Jeremy Ledbetter and features Mark Mosca on steelpan, Alexis Baró on trumpet, Braxton Hicks on saxophone, Yoser Rodriguez on bass, Chendy León on drums and Alberto Suárez on percussion.  The group was assembled in 2005 to perform Caribbean-rooted music inspired by world travels and has since garnered attention around the world.  Having performed at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, the Atlantic Jazz Festival, the Tobago Jazz Experience and the El Hatillo Jazz Festival in Venezuela, the group consistently delivers dynamic shows.  CaneFire's debut album, Kaiso Blue, was recorded at CBC’s Studio 211 in Toronto and includes guest performances by world-renowned pannist Andy Narell and Venezuelan vocalist Eliana Cuevas.
