June Garber
When you watch June sing, you feel as if she is singing directly to you. Her warmth & unmitigated joy at being on stage envelopes you and pulls you close and encircles you with her warmth!

Every song that she chooses to sing, connects to a base truth within – so there is never any artifice – only that which is true!

Her voice reflects each emotional shift that the writer intended. This is why she sings some of the Most Complicated & Greatest Songs ever written: Gershwin, Porter, Rogers & Hart, Sondheim, Kurt Weill. Whether Growling Out “St. Louis Blues” or reveling in the pure tone of “Here’s to Life” – her connection to each song is from her soul!

June was born in South Africa, but left there thirty two years ago to settle in Toronto. She performed in Theatres across Canada and has Equity & Actra Status.

She has toured & performed as a singer in All of the Major Centres in North America i.e. New York, Dallas, Florida, Atlanta, Las Vegas & Atlantic City & also in Cuba, South Africa & Australia.

June took a hiatus and returned to singing in 2004 when she released a Demo Album. In 2006 she released her Debut Album “SMILE” that was produced by Bill King. It has been extremely well received and has had extensive air-play with all of the Major Jazz Stations!

This year she was honoured to perform in two Jazz FM 91.1 shows that were recorded for broadcast firstly in the “The Sound of Jazz” Concert Series, in which she performed in the Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong & secondly as a guest on Joe Sealy’s Duets Show!

Other Major Highlights in the last 12 months have been performing on the Main Stage @ the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival, as well as on the Main Stages of the Beaches, Orangeville, Markham, Port Hope & Oshawa Jazz Festivals! Also, performing @ the Grand Opening of the ROM and at the Renovated Palaise Royale with 2 Big Bands!

She in now in the planning stages & is looking forward to the release of her sophomore (2nd) CD that will again be produced by the Amazing Bill King!

These are days of Joy, Bliss and Wonder! Because she shares each moment with the Love of Her Life & Soulmate, Bob Doherty – without whom, none of this would be possible!

Her Debut CD “Smile” has had wonderful Reviews and Radio airplay!
