
Layla Zoe has been called "the Reincarnate of Janis Joplin" and was titled "Canada's Darling of the blues." Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Layla taught herself to sing by listening to old records and has been singing since the tender age of four years old. Layla Zoe has been seen on Canadian Idol, Chum TV, Speakers Corner and receives radio airplay on CBC Radio and Jazz.fm in Toronto, as well as International airplay by radio stations from France to Australia. She has won awards such as "Best Female Vocalist" in 2007 on Vancouver Island, BC. And took home the Compo10 Blues Songwriting award in 2007 in Jarvenpaa, Finland. She was the only woman and the only Canadian to make it to the finals of the Compo10 competition. Layla has received rave reviews from Downbeat Magazine, Canadian Musician Magazine, the Toronto Blues Society, the Globe and Mail, to name a few. She has performed alongside Jeff Healey, the Downchild Blues Band, Danny Marks, David Gogo, David Rotundo, Dawn Tyler Watson, Rick Fines and Suzie Vinnick, and many more. Layla has received kudos from the late Jeff Healey, Danny Marks, Mick Taylor (the Rolling Stones), Little Feat and Eric Clapton. She has performed all over Canada and the US, and in Europe. Layla Zoe has released 4 albums independently as well as producing two of her own music videos seen on youtube. She has recently moved to the Toronto area.
