MARATHON / WALK Sunday July 24, 2011 8:30am (20k), 9:30am (10k), 10:00am (5k)

An Official Tune Up Run for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon,

assisted by the Beaches Running Room.

KEW Gardens [Martin Goodman Trail]

Organized by the Canada Running Series team

Come strut YOUR stuff in the Beaches Jazz Tune-Up Fun Run & Walk and help the local Toronto Beach Rotary Club raise funds to support important groups and projects in the neighbourhood.

OPTIONS:

You can run/walk for $5, or if you'd like a super BIJF souvenir
t-shirt and a ticket to a great post-run barbeque, pay an entry fee of just $20.

There is a cap of 1,000 participants, so enter early to avoid disappointment!

The emphasis is on fun and fundraising, and the opportunity to have a large group, tune up run for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon [42k, 21k and 5k] on September 27th, 2009. Why not consider running for the Beaches Rotary Club in the big one in September as well, and use Beaches Jazz to get those muscles moving?

RUN TIMES:

The runs start at different times, so that we can all finish together!

20k start: 8:30am
10k Start: 9:30am
5k start: 10am

COURSE DETAILS:

Starting at the foot of Kew Gardens, you'll all run out and back on the scenic Martin Goodman Trail, to Ashbridges Bay and Tommy Thompson Park, accompanied by the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Pacers, group leaders for the runs, who'll help you get on your pace and enjoy the experience. You'll all run the same course, with different turnarounds for the different distances.

We'll have a clock at the finish, but there will be no official chip timing--run your run and keep your own watch.

REFRESHMENTS:

There will be water and Gatorade at the start/finish and on the 5k course only.

AFTER THE RUN:

Once you're done, stay for a fabulous day of Beaches Jazz performances at the main stage in KEW Gardens from 11:30am until 6:30pm.

Enter today, and start collecting pledges for Beaches Rotary at http://www.canadarunningseries.com/jazz/index.htm [where you'll also find more details].
