Son Aché plays Afro-Cuban rhythms with an urban twist  The music of Son Aché makes you want to get up and dance.  Known as Toronto’s own Buena Vista Social Club, Son Aché brings a fresh urban vibe and energy to the stage.  At their concerts, audiences can expect to hear melodies and rhythms firmly rooted in the traditions of Cuban guajiros, guitars, percussion and vocals.  Founded in Toronto in 1999, the band members came together with the mutual goal of composing, interpreting and performing “son montuno”, the musical roots of contemporary salsa.  Their mass appeal derives from a successful melding of diverse talent, infectious energy, years of combined musical education and vast experiences.  Son Aché maintains integrity, tradition and passion while broadening the allure of old Cuban rhythms and engaging a wider audience of dancers and music lovers.
