A master of the guitar and violin, classically-trained Lionel Young dazzles audiences with his honey-toned vocals and charismatic presence– his talent matched only by his accomplished band.  Young is joined on stage by Andre Mali on the trumpet, Dexter Payne on sax, clarinet and harmonica, Ricardo Peña on piano, organ and vocals, bassist Kim Stone and Jay Forrest on drums and vocals.  In 2011, Lionel Young made blues music history becoming the first ever two-time recipient of the esteemed International Blues Challenge.  He first won as a solo artist in 2008 and a second time this past year as the lead member of The Lionel Young Band.  As the band prepares to launch a new album, these blues magicians continue to entice audiences across North America with their contemporary twists on blues classics featured on their well-received debut album As the Sun Goes Down (2007).
