Iroko Project

Percussionist Jorge Torres, bassist Roberto Riveron, pianist Jorge Betancourt and violinist/vocalist Yosvany Castañeda formed Iroko Project, stunning audiences across Canada with their Afro-Cuban rooted jazz sound.  The band cultivated a loyal fan following derived from their rich, dynamic performances.  The members of Iroko Project have contributed to numerous Grammy nominated and Juno award-winning albums and have collaborated with music megastars such as Cuban Conga master “Tataguines”, Giraldo Piloto and multi-Grammy award winning artist Jane Bunnett.  Since uniting in 2008, Iroko Project’s primary goal has been to infuse Canadian audiences with their original Afro-Cuban and Latin jazz sounds.
