Contemporary jazz saxophonist Warren Hill’s first love of music began when he started playing the guitar at the age of seven. With an insatiable passion for music, the Toronto native grew up fronting various high school rock bands as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist and eventually picked up the saxophone. Inspired by his love for this instrument, Hill withdrew from his studies at the University of Toronto and landed a scholarship at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. A featured saxophone soloist in his 1988 graduation, Hill attracted the attention of legendary record producer Russ Titleman who immediately hired him to be a studio artist on Chaka Khan’s hit album, C.K. Riding off his success, Hill relocated to Los Angeles and recorded a demo that landed him a deal with RCA. Hill’s debut album, Kiss Under the Moon, catapulted his career and resulted in an invitation to play with Natalie Cole on her Unforgettable Tour. Soon after, Hill topped the charts with his 1993 hit The Passion Theme. Releasing two more albums over the next two years, Hill’s career was on fire. In 1997, he added his own smooth vocals to his instrumental skills on the critically acclaimed record, Shelter. Some of Hill’s most prestigious awards include Berklee College's ‘Distinguished Alumnus’ award, multiple Juno nominations, NAC’s ‘Songwriter of the Year’ award and the 2005/2006 ‘Canadian Wind Instrumentalist of the Year’ award. He has released 11 hit studio albums and is joined by an all-star cast of musicians on his most recent record La Dolce Vita.
