Canadian songstress and slide guitarist, Rachelle van Zanten, blends musical genres of blues, folk, Americana and serious guitar-shredding to create a style of her own. She attributes her unique style to a variety of influences ranging from Led Zeppelin and Jeff Buckley to Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt. Van Zanten has come a long way from her bluegrass upbringing in the foothills of northern British Columbia. Van Zanten recently recorded a rock album with producer Joby Baker and world-renowned sound engineer Tchad Blake. Her album Where Your Garden Grows, features eclectic, straight-from-the heart lyrics highlighted by intricate string and rhythm arrangements. She has also played as back-up for Derek Trucks, Johnny Winter, The Indigo Girls, Eagle Eye Cherry and Dar Williams. Rachelle’s latest tour took her through Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, India and Nepal.
