Chase Sanborn |
|
|
What is in the mind of the jazz musician when improvising? How much of what you play is creative inspiration, and how much are practiced licks? How do you learn the language ofjazz? What should you practice? In a presentation that is part concert and part clinic, trumpeter and author Chase Sanborn answers these questions and many more. Chase and the members of his band take the audience on a guided tour into the world of jazz improvisation. They introduce the listeners
to some of the basics of the jazz language, and show how musicians use that language to communicate.

This fun and informative session will be of interest to jazz students, teachers, listeners, and anyone who wants to learn more about jazz. Whatever the level of interest or ability, you will be entertained, you will be enlightened, and you will come away with a greater understanding and appreciation for jazz music and jazz musicians.

Featuring with Chase Sanborn, Ross McIntyre on bass and Mark Kieswetter on piano. |
